Kaikoura is one of the few places on Earth where sperm whales reside year-round, drawn by the deep Kaikoura Canyon just offshore. Board a purpose-built vessel for a 3-hour cruise into these rich waters. Giant sperm whales are the stars, but you'll likely also encounter New Zealand fur seals, dusky dolphins, and majestic albatross soaring overhead. The onboard hydrophone lets you listen to whale song beneath the waves. Sightings are 95% guaranteed year-round.
